L.B.W. (Lutheran Braille Workers)
Our congregation will be one of only 2 or 3 centers in the state of Minnesota that will be helping visually impaired people read a portion of the Bible. LBW works with volunteers to print and send a book of the Bible to visually impaired people all over the world. Over time, a visually impaired person could have the entire Bible printed in Braille. We will be focusing on printing the book of Revelation. Our local Women of Trinity organization is hoping to fulfill the LBW needs, and even share this opportunity with our Appleton Zone churches, with other churches in our area, and with our community.
A room in our church has been set aside as our “production center” and has been equipped to begin making these Braille copies of Revelation. A training session is planned for the afternoon of Saturday, April 23rd, when team leaders will receive instructions on how to operate the printing equipment. This project will be dedicated during our worship service on Sunday, April 24th.
Our local LBW Project Committee is comprised of Betty Reinke, Beth Mueller and Marlyce Thompson. We need your help! Our goal each month is to print 25 copies of the book of Revelation. We need volunteers to be part of a team and one member from each team to be a team leader. If you are willing to volunteer your time (approximately 2 to 4 hours each month) to help make copies, or to be a team leader, please contact the church office, or one of the committee members. A sign-up sheet will be located in the back of the church as well.
Thank you for prayerfully considering to be a part of this unique and impactful mission opportunity! Please share this information with your family and friends as well.
May God bless our efforts!
